I am often asked to explain my Christian spiritual formation.
Spiritual formation, for me, includes a concerted effort to pray, worship, study and meditate on Scripture and service. Leading an organization such as QPG, is both spiritual and practical; being a follower of Jesus Christ, a servant and a friend.
By nature, human beings are worshippers. Worship is a full-time life-response to Jesus Christ. We truly worship Him for who He is and our attitudes and actions are expressed in praise and adoration which, in turn, affects the way we live.
Our spirit is the core of who we are; it is the center of our choice and our emotions. We worship in spirit, beyond the physical, and in truth, which is important to do simultaneously. We are in both spirit and truth at once.
There is no separation in our lives between daily activities and Christian ministry. Everything we do is to be done in service to Christ and His Glory with an attitude of worship. Christian spiritual journeys don’t require formal classes or even step by step disciplines. Good spiritual journeys are just Christians intentionally learning how to be more Christ-like.
We don’t simply bow our heads or bend our knee, we worship through a heart posture. We do this both through our emotional core and in light of reality. For me, our worship is expressed in our daily routines, through prayer, Scripture reading and acts of kindness.
QPG enables me to express that worship through corporate sponsorship and giving. What is granted to us is returned to our investor family many times over. We focus on a deliberate path to an abundant life now in Christ.
